David Muller, PhD

Dr. Muller, a proven serial entrepreneur, recognized the potential of using advanced methods to gently reshape the cornea and in 2007 founded Avedro, Inc., where he serves as CEO. Under his direction, Avedro has pioneered numerous advances in the field of cross-linking, including Accelerated Cross-Linking, pulsed illumination, Lasik Xtra®, and Photorefractive Intrastromal Cross-Linking (PiXL™). Previously, as the founder, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Summit Technology, Dr. Muller led the team that brought the first FDA-approved excimer laser to market and laser vision correction eye surgery to tens of millions of people around the world. He is the author of publications in the areas of photochemistry and excimer laser development, as well as the inventor of numerous patents in the medical device field. In addition, he has established companies in other industries, including internet commerce, homeland security and specialty foods. Dr. Muller earned a doctorate in Physical Chemistry from Cornell University and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Steve Blinn

Steve brings more than 30 years of experience in corporate management and worldwide sales and marketing management for medical device companies from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. As the executive vice president of Summit Technology, Inc. he served on the leadership team that pioneered the development and worldwide marketing of excimer laser systems for performing laser vision correction eye surgery.

Rhonda Bracey

Rhonda Bracey

Rhonda has 22 years of finance experience in the life science industry in both start-up and established companies. Before joining Avedro, Rhonda was vice president of finance and administration at NDO Surgical. Prior to that, she was financial manager at CR Bard and an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Marc Friedman, PhD

Marc has over 20 years of experience in the areas of ophthalmology, phototherapy and biotechnology and began his career at Summit Technology. He earned his doctorate in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University and his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Optical Engineering from the University of Rochester.

Rob Broderick

Robert has a wide range of experience in medical device design and development, operations and product management. Vineeta Belanger

Vineeta brings over fourteen years of clinical development experience within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry. Most recently, she held several key positions for Ironwood Pharmaceuticals. Prior to her industry work, Vineeta provided eye care through her private optometry practice. She has authored several publications and abstracts. Vineeta holds a doctorate in Physiological Optics from the University of Houston and a bachelor of science in Optometry from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

Dave Iannetta

Dave has a strong background in eye care with experience in global product marketing. At Optos, he was responsible for launching novel retinal imaging devices, with thousands installed globally. Prior to Optos, Dave worked in surgical device marketing with LeMaitre Vascular. He has a strong skill set in marketing, business development and finance, and a wide range of experience from chemical engineering to medical devices, equity research and venture capital. Dave earned his MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a degree in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University.

Grace Lytle

Grace Lytle

Grace brings her clinical and teaching experience in the areas of keratoconus and refractive surgery management to Avedro. Grace earned her master’s degree in vision science and her doctorate in optometry from the New England College of Optometry, where she graduated as valedictorian of her doctoral class. After completion of residency training in Cornea at the New England Eye Institute in Boston, Grace went on to provide eye care in private practice and to instruct in the contact lens course at NECO.

Chris Petersen

Chris Petersen

Chris has 20 years of experience within the biomedical optics and medical device field. Prior to joining Avedro, Chris held roles including Vice President of R&D for LightLab Imaging/St Jude Medical, developing intravascular Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), and Vice President of Engineering and Advanced Development for Zeiss Meditec, developing several ophthalmic instruments, including corneal topographers, visual field analyzers and the first commercial ophthalmic OCT platform. Chris holds a doctorate in Optoelectronics from Princeton University and a degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.

Pamela Nelson

Pamela Nelson

Pamela brings over 15 years of experience in Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Regulatory Affairs. She has extensive experience with the submission and approval of drugs. Prior to joining Avedro, Pamela held various regulatory positions at Genzyme, Alkermes, Altus and Alnara Pharmaceuticals.

Evan Sherr

Evan Sherr

Evan’s medical industry experience spans a variety of areas including product management, research and development, clinical trials management and regulatory affairs. Most recently, he was vice president of Product Management at Neuroptix Corporation. Prior to that, he served as Executive Director, Clinical Research, Surgical Business at Cynosure, Inc. He began his career at Summit Technology as a staff scientist.

Stephen has over 28 years of experience within the pharmaceutical, biotech and life sciences industries. His expertise includes senior leadership roles in quality, process development, and discovery research and product development. Most recently, Stephen held several key positions in quality, compliance and product development for Alkermes Incorporated. Stephen holds a Master of Business Administration from Babson College, a Master of Science in Biological Sciences from University of Lowell and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Saint Anselm College.
